Former Perham runner, Maddie McClellan placed first in the steeplechase for the North Dakota State womens track and field team. The Bison Invitational was held April 14 at the Ellig Sports Complex.
McClellan smashed her previous best by almost 20 seconds, running the course in a time of 10 minutes 35.75 seconds, which sets a new Ellig Sports Complex Record. This broke Veronica Sackett's 2004 record of 10:58.70. McClellan's time is also ranked second in the school's history.
