It was the New York Mills volleyball teams' turn to take on the number two state-ranked and undefeated Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines.
The Eagles dropped all three varsity matches to the talented Wolverines group but played hard against a far superior foe.
"I'm definitely satisfied with how the girls played against Wadena last night," said Head Coach Amy Koskela.
According to Koskela, set one wasn't so pretty, but set two saw the Eagles ahead up to eight points.
"Our serving was 93 percent as a team, which really helps. The front line got their hands on quite a few of their hits too. The girls felt pretty good about games two and three, and I think that's great because the fans had the gym booming with noise during some of those volleys, which added to the excitement."

If there is one thing that can be said about volleyball games in NY Mills, there's definitely a crowd presence.
NY Mills did see success from a couple of their underclass teams. Both the seventh and eighth grade teams swept the Wolverines.
Thursday night, the Eagles dropped a match to Sebeka by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-21.
The teams were knotted late in the third set at 21 before the Trojans reeled off the final four points to salt away the match.
