The second night of the Heart O’Lakes Fishing season provided some good fishing on Rush Lake. The Perham Yellowjacket fishing team secured four of the top 10 spots during its second night of the season on July 23.

The event featured more than 100 anglers and 35 total teams competing for the top spots. Perham competed against teams from Fergus Falls, Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, Wadena-Deer Creek and Breckenridge.

Capturing top honors was the team of Zach Ebeling, Austin Aanenson and Clayton Seedorf. They were captained by Josh Balcer.

The team of Tait Bormann, Jayden Bormann and Brayden Glorvigen finished in fourth place. They were captained by Jim Peters.

Kaden Feldt and Austan Adamczyk came in eighth place, they were captained by Nick Adamczyk.

Dresden Wegscheid and Kade Houghtaling finished in ninth place, rounding out the group of Yellowjacket anglers in the top 10. They were captained by Jeremy Houghtaling.

The regular season will conclude on Aug. 13 on West Battle Lake. The end of the season championship event will take place on Sept. 12. The top five teams from each of the 26 schools will compete for the HOL Championship on that evening.
