The Perham/New York Mills girls tennis team had its three-match winning streak come to an end on Sept. 18 against Pequot Lakes in Perham.
The Patriots won all seven matches on their way to the victory. However, while the match was a 7-0 sweep, the Yellowjackets were happy with how they battled against one of the top teams in Northern Minnesota.
Megan Muller was victorious at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Keira Radniecki, while Carly Chaney earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Avery Beachy at No. 2 singles.
Riley Fogerty won a pair of close sets at No. 3 singles when she defeated Mallory Belka. She won the first 6-4 and took the second in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3), earning the win.
Quinn Trottier picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Jaden Hackel at No. 4 singles to complete the sweep for the Patriots.

The doubles duo of Afton Crocker and Morgan Lueck earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory over LaVonne Lindberg and Kendra Moris at No. 1 doubles.
Kellee Lamp and Maci Martini defeated Katie Johnson and Maggie Trites at No. 2 singles. The match went the distance but Lamp and Martini were able to hold on for the win. They dropped the first set 3-6, but responded with 6-2 and 6-3 wins in the second and third sets.
Allyson Yahn and Kelsi Martini closed out the sweep at No. 3 doubles when they defeated Lily DeBoer and Alivia Trepanier in a pair of tight battles. Yahn and Martini won the first set 6-2, and won the second in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-4).
The Yellowjackets hope to return to the win column when they return to action on Sept. 22 with a dual meet at Parkers Prairie, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
