The Perham boys track and field team made it two-for-two at the Ted Meinhover Athletic Complex on April 18 when they won their second straight home event.
The Yellowjackets finished with 140 points, edging out Park Rapids Area, who finished second with 127 points. Frazee was third with 84 points, while Ottertail Central was fourth with 77 points and United North Central was fifth with 48 points. Barnesville and Rothsay rounded out the field.
The Yellowjackets excelled in the running events. They picked up first place finishes in the 400m dash, the 800m run, the 1600m run and the 3200m run, individually, while picking up relay wins in the 800, 1600 and 3200m relays during the event.
Chase Belka was first overall in the 400m dash when he finished with a time of 54.66 seconds. Clayton Anderson earned top honors in the 800m run at two minutes and 8.95 seconds. Brandon O’Hara ran out in front in the 1600m run at 4:45.33, while Carson Hespe won the 3200m run with a time of 11:09.76.
The Perham 800m relay team finished with a time of 1:38.21, while the 1600m relay came in at 3:42.89. The 3200m relay team closed out the event with a time of 8:28.94.

Elijah Morris earned second place honors in the high jump with a leap of five feet, six inches. He was second in the 300m hurdles as well with a time of 45.56 seconds.
Colton Kostynick helped the Yellowjackets to some big points in the field events. He was first in the discus with a throw of 130 feet, three inches. He was second as well in the shot put. He finished with a put of 48-3.0.
