Perham's Katie Johnson continued to exemplify leadership in the Yellowjackets 57-50 victory over Hawley Friday, March 12. Just three days after hitting the 1,000 career point milestone, she had a double double in the win against the Nuggets.
Johnson scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and had four steals in the game. Another senior, Grayce Mickelson, also stepped up for the Yellowjackets, scoring 13 points.
"Grayce Mickelson really came up big getting to the basket in the second half," head coach TJ Super said. "She is a selfless player that usually distributes the basketball, but she realized we needed to get some points for her and she stepped up."
Perham's Mya Morris went 6-6 from the free throw line at the end of the game, helping cement the Yellowjackets victory.
The Yellowjackets finished the regular season with a 12-6 record. Tournament play begins next week.
