Two of the top gymnastics teams in Class A squared off in what could be a Section 8A championship preview on Jan. 30 in Melrose.

The Melrose Area Dutchmen earned a narrow victory over the Perham Yellowjackets, 143.95-142.475 in their first head-to-head competition of the season.

Perham’s Jada Olsen captured the all-around title with a 38.375, just edging out Camryn Brinkman, who came in second with a 37.550. Dena Fischer was third with a 35.400, while Avery McAllister was fourth with a 35.100.
