The Perham/New York Mills boys and girls swim teams had a joint banquet Wednesday, June 16, to recognize the swimmers' accomplishments last season and announce the captains for the 2021-22 season.
One swimmer, Irene Mursu, qualified for sections in all eight swimming events, making her a Cullendorfer finisher. There were 8 Ironman and 11 Ironwoman finishers, which means the swimmers successfully completed all eight swimming events in competition:

Members of the team also broke several records during the season. In the 200 medley relay, the team of Molly Meyer, Katelyn Kratzke, Taylor Ziemke, and Elle McDonald set a record with a time of 2:20.04. In the 50 freestyle, Taylor Ziemke broke the record with a time of 27.05. Blake Swenson broke two records: the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:25.92 and the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.77.
The Yellowjackets also had one swimmer qualify for state. Brittney Lorentz was seeded 13th in the state tournament for diving.

Additionally, the captains for the 2021-2022 season were named. For the girls team, Irene Mursu, Jasmyn Olson, and Madison Ruther will be the captains, and for the boys team Luke Becker, Max George, and Dan Kingsley were named.
