The extended home stand for the Perham/New York Mills tennis team continued on Sept. 3 when the Yellowjackets hosted Section 8A rival Crookston at the Perham Tennis Courts.
The Pirates secured a 6-1 victory over the Yellowjackets, dropping the Yellowjackets to 1-3 on the dual meet season.
The Yellowjackets earned just one win when Kiera Radniecki defeated Catherine Tiedeman in three sets. Radniecki won the first set 7-5, but dropped the second set 3-6. However, she responded to win a nail-biting third set, 11-9, to secure the lone point for Perham/New York Mills during the meet.
Avery Beachy returned from injury and went three sets against Hayden Winjum. However, Winjum was able to capture the win 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.
Halle Winjum defeated Mallory Belka at No. 3 singles in straight sets 6-3, 6-0, while Hannah Lindemoen was victorious over Jaden Hackel 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

The Crookston team of Emma Osborn/Halle Bruggeman defeated LaVonne Lindberg and Kendra Moris at No. 1 doubles in straight sets. Osborn and Bruggeman won the match 6-3, 6-3.
Emma Gunderson and Brekken Tall defeated Maggie Trites and Maya Radniecki at No. 2 doubles 6-3 6-0.
Macy Fee and Abby Borowicz defeated Jane Gudmundson and Katie Johnson in three sets at No.3 doubles. Fee and Borowicz dropped the first set 3-6, but won the second 7-5 and the third 6-4.
Perham returns to action with a home dual on September 8 when they take on Detroit Lakes at 4 p.m. at the Perham Tennis Courts.
