Perham outperforms Breckenridge in decisive victory

Yellowjackets start strong and carry momentum to 57-40 victory over Cowboys

Perham extended its winning streak to 4 games with a decisive 57-40 win over Breckenridge Tuesday, Feb. 16, at The Hive in Perham.

The Yellowjackets pulled ahead early and led by 15 after the first half. The Cowboys struggled to find the net throughout the game, making 13 shots on 45 attempts. The Jackets, on the other hand, were 47% from the field (23 of 49 attempts). Senior guard Grant McMartin led the scoring for Perham with 19 points.

In the second half, Yellowjackets senior Finn Diggins electrified the crowd on a breakaway steal and a slam dunk. Coach Dave Cresap then made the decision to utilize the bench, giving much of the team ample playing time.

The Yellowjackets are 8-2 on the season. The team hosts Hawley at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at The Hive.
