Perham sweeps Frazee

The Perham Yellowjackets are buzzing off of a clean sweep, 3-0 win against the Frazee-Vergas Hornets on Tuesday night.

Scoring started early for the Yellowjackets off of a Frazee-Vergas net violation in the first set. Throughout the first set Perham and Frazee stayed neck and neck. Perham went on to win the first set 25-18.

In the second set, the Yellowjackets started out strong with a four point advantage over the Hornets. Frazee-Vergas came back for two followed by another Perham point streak. The Yellowjackets picked up six points in a row, making it a 10-2 game in the middle of the second set. Frazee hung in the game but weren't able to gain an advantage.

Perham ended the second set with a five point streak and collected a 25-11 win.

The third set was an opportunity for the Hornets to force a fourth set and rally towards a win. The Hornets stayed ahead for most of the third set.


But, The Yellowjackets managed to rally in a 6-point streak taking back the lead. Stella Raser collected the winning kill of the matchup winning the final set for the Yellowjackets 25-23.

Stella Raser lead the attack for Perham most of the night. She tallied nine kills and two aces. Lilly DeBoer and Willow Thiel also collected kills for the Yellowjacket offense. DeBoer and Grayce Mickelson led the team in digs with 13 and 12 respectively.

Next up for the Yellowjackets is a matchup with Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Perham.
