“The Yellowjackets had another night full of personal bests on Tuesday,” Perham head coach Jensen Maiden said. “Out of the 13 individual races, eight of them yielded all-time personal records and one more resulted in a season personal record.”
The season personal record came from Kyle Swanson, who cut 19 seconds in the 500 freestyle and qualified for sections in his fifth overall event, which is the team’s eighth event.
The team of Max George, Kyle Swanson, Kevin Swanson, Luke Becker came in third place of the 200 medley relay with a time of two minutes and 13.34 seconds.
Kevin Swanson took home third place honors in the 200 individual medley with a time of 3:06.69, while Kyle Swanson was third in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.70. Kevin Swanson followed with a fourth place finish in the 100 freestyle at 1:04.50, while Luke Becker was sixth at 1:23.15. Kyle Swanson was third in the 500 freestyle when he touched in with a time of 6:12.59.
The Perham team of Luke Becker, Daniel Kingsley, Hermie Frost and Max George came in fifth place at 2:08.00. Max George followed with a third place finish in the 100 backstroke at 1:17.00, while Luke Becker was fourth at 1:27.85.
Perham closed out the meet with a fourth place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. The team of Kyle Swanson, Max George, Daniel Kingsley and Kevin Swanson touched in at 4:31.66.
“With only a few weeks left of the regular season, the boys are starting to step up their game, and that’s a really exciting thing to see,” Maiden said. “We have two more dual meets before the Last Chance Invite that leads us into conference. The boys will be pushing their limits over the next couple of weeks.”
The Yellowjackets return to the pool when they compete on Jan. 22 with a meet in Morris.
