The Perham boys tennis team picked up its second straight victory with a 5-2 win over Detroit Lakes on April 23 in Detroit Lakes.
The Yellowjackets swept the singles competition to pick up the win, while Detroit Lakes was able to take two of the three doubles matches.
“It was a nice day for tennis,” Perham head coach Jameson Miller said. “I thought both teams had their moments of playing really good tennis. Detroit Lakes always has a well-coached and gritty team.”

Carter Cresap was victorious at No. 1 singles in straight sets winning 6-3, 6-1. Josh Peterson earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory, while Gunnar Anderson picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles. Drew Birkeland rounded out the sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
Anthony Reese and Landon Stevens picked up the lone doubles win for Perham at No. 2 when they won in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
“Overall, coaches and players, we have to keep improving every day and continue to work on being a good, supportive team,” Miller said after the victory over Detroit Lakes.
The Yellowjackets are back in action on Friday, April 26 at 4:30 p.m. at the Perham Tennis Courts when they host Fergus Falls.
