The Perham Wrestling team returned home for one final dual meet of the 2017 calendar season when they hosted Park Rapids Area at the Prairie Wind Middle School gymnasium on Dec. 19.
The Yellowjackets capped off a perfect first half of the season with a 62-15 victory over the Panthers in a match up of section foes.
The Yellowjackets are 12-0 in dual meets during the first half of the season, allowing more than 20 points against in just four of those 12 meets this year. The Yellowjackets took advantage of an overmatched Panther team on their way to the win.
Perham picked up four forfeit victories while earning four fall victories, a pair of decision wins and a technical fall victory on the night.
Leighton Rach earned a fall win at 145 when he defeated Joe Klein. He recorded the pin at the three minute and 33 second mark. Dylan Fudge followed with a fall of his own at 1:46 of his match with Landen Burlingame at 152. Wyatt Guck made it three straight fall wins for Perham when he put Eli Bessman’s shoulders to the mat at 1:46 in his match at 160.

Dawson Kellogg followed with a 6-4 victory over Dawson Roth at 170. In one of the more anticipated matches of the evening, Perham’s Zach Peterson out-pointed Park Rapids Area’s Cody Dravis at 182. Peterson earned the 6-4 victory for the Yellowjackets.
Ty Moser picked up the final win for Perham at 195 when he rolled to a technical fall victory over Jacke Hensel 18-3.
Ashton Clark, Zach Hocking and Dwayne Johnson earned wins for the Panthers in the dual meet.
Perham returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 28 with the annual Rumble on the Red Tournament at the Fargodome in North Dakota.
