Perham's Marcus Belka had a frustrating final round at the Class AA state boys golf tournament at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan Wednesday, June 16.
After shooting a first-round 78, Belka was in 10th place heading into the final round. However, the putts didn't want to fall and he ended the final round with an 87.
According to head coach Peder Butenhoff, "It was a frustrating and very difficult day for Marcus. Putts would not fall. It was one of those days when the roll and pace of the ball was good but the ball did not want to go in the hole."
Although it was a frustrating day, Butenhoff said Marcus did play well.
"He played good but most important is he played with integrity, good composure, and golf etiquette," Butenhoff said. "We're very proud of him and we look forward to Marcus returning to state next year and hopefully leading his team of Yellowjacket players to state."
