The Perham girls basketball got back on track ahead of the Section 8-2A playoffs.
On Saturday, the Yellowjackets (19-7) snapped their two-game skid with a 64-58 win over Thief River Falls. It was Perham's 15th section win of the season.
The Yellowjackets fell to the Hawley Nuggets (19-4) on the road a night earlier. After winning the first matchup 71-61 between the two section and conference rivals on Feb. 17, Perham split the season series with a 72-41 loss on Friday. The Yellowjackets are still the outright Heart O'Lakes Conference champions with a record of 11-1.
Thursday night was the first of a three-day stretch of games. Perham traveled to Class AAAA's Brainerd in a battle of two teams looking to make deep playoff runs in their respective section playoffs.
The Warriors (20-5) knocked off the Yellowjackets 66-55 on a night where Myah Nelson scored her 1,000th career point in a Brainerd jersey. Willow Thiel and Sydney Anderson each had 15 points, while Greta Hillukka had 12. Olivia Tautges led the way for Brainerd with 19 points.

Perham hosts Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the opening round of the Section 8-2A tournament on Thursday at The Hive.
Boys get right against Breckenridge, Fergus FallsThe Perham boys basketball team (13-9) shut down Breckenridge (4-18) to the tune of five points in the first half on Monday night.
The Yellowjackets cruised to a 52-27 win over the Cowboys after leading 27-5 in the first half. Soren Anderson led Perham with 16 points, while Chas Melvin scored 12. Micah Thompson grabbed 11 rebounds in the win.
On Saturday, Perham dominated another Section 8-2A team in Fergus Falls (8-14). The Yellowjackets beat the Otters 51-23 on the road behind another big night from Anderson. His 23 points paced Perham to a crucial Section 8-2A win. Anderson also had 15 rebounds.
Despite just having eight wins, Fergus Falls is still in the top half of the section standings, according to the QRF rating on Minnesota-Scores.
Perham dropped a close game against Hawley (15-6) on Friday by a score of 56-43. The Nuggets' balanced scoring attack was led by Sam Senske, who dropped 18 points in the win. Thompson led the way for Perham with 11.
The Yellowjackets close out the regular season with a Tuesday night game at home against Thief River Falls (15-6) before traveling to Bemidji on Thursday.
