ALEXANDRIA – The battle of top-10 Class AA teams went the way of Albany on Saturday afternoon at the Winter Lakes Classic at Alexandria Area High School.
The No. 7 Huskies (15-1) snapped No. 9 Perham’s six-game winning streak with a 61-48 win over the Yellowjackets. Micah Thompson was the main source of offense for Perham. He scored 30 points and collected 12 boards. Thompson is 59 points shy of 1,000 for his career.
Jacob Daniels had 11 points for the Yellowjackets. Perham shot just 41.9% from the field and made only 3-of-17 shots from 3-point range.
Albany had a big night from Tysen Gerads, who finished as the Huskies’ leading scorer with 19 points.
