ST. PAUL – The Perham boys track and field team was represented in three events on Friday at the Hamline Elite Meet.
Senior Jakob McCleary ran in the 800 and 1,600-meter races, while senior Levi Richter competed in the pole vault. McCleary took 12th in the 800 with a time of 2:00.56. He then finished in 11th place in the 1,200 at 4:27.31.
Richter took 10th place in the pole vault at 2-feet, 6-inches. Fergus Falls’ JordanLee (13-feet) and Wadena-Deer Creek’s Brady Domier (14-feet) also competed in the pole vault.
Hawley Invitational
On Thursday, the Yellowjackets took first place at the Hawley invite behind five first-place finishes. Micah Thompson won the 400-meter dash at 54.42 seconds. Bjorn Anderson also took home a first-place finish in the 3,200-meter run at 10:40.69. Carter Flatau took second (10:49.13), while Dylan Guck finished third (10:51.92). Flatau also took third in the 1,600-meter run at 5:00.45.
Connor Kostynick continued his impressive season in the throwing events. He threw the discus 144-feet, 7-inches for first place. He also took second in the shot put at 44-feet, 6.5-inches.

The Yellowjackets took the top three pole vault positions. Richter took first at 12-feet, 6-inches. Noah Novotny and Aidan Kennedy each vaulted 11-feet.
Jovani Vazquez notched a pair of top-eight finishes in the two hurdles events. He took sixth in the 300-meter race at 49.57 seconds and eight in the 110-meter race at 20.76 seconds.
