Cross country: Perham boys finish second at Lucky Lindy, girls third; Bjorn Anderson wins medalist

The Perham cross country teams took second and third place at the Lucky Lindy Invitational on Thursday in Little Falls.

LITTLE FALLS – Last Thursday was another test for the Perham cross country teams at the Lucky Lindy Invitational.

The boys took second place with a team score of 112, led by sophomore Bjorn Anderson, who finished with the fastest time in the field at 16:03,1. Micah Thompson wasn’t far behind in sixth place with a time of 16:41.2.

Dylan Guck ran the third fastest time for Perham in 17:29.9, which was good enough for 26th place. Caden Doll (17:52.9) and Carter Flatau (18:00.1) rounded out Perham’s top five in 40th and 42nd place.

Heritage Christian won the meet with a score of 66. Monticello took third place with 118 points, followed by St. Cloud Cathedral (131), Minnehaha Academy (163) and Alexandria (163).

The Perham girls took third place as a team with 111 points, trailing only Alexandria (87) and Staples-Motley (93).

Gracie Morris clocked the fastest time in 19:36.4 in fourth place, followed by Quincy Anderson (20:23.2) and Ella Hendrickson (20:25.2) in 21st and 23rd. Leelou Novotny (20:43.5) and Mya Morris (21:06.0) finished in 30th and 37th to complete the top five times for the Yellowjackets.

The Yellowjackets head to the University of Minnesota for the Roy Griak Invitational this Friday.
