HAWLEY – Every opposing Heart O’ Lakes Conference girls basketball team added a tally to the loss column after playing against Perham this season.
The Yellowjackets completed a perfect conference stint with a 69-49 victory over Hawley on Thursday night. The HOL title stays in Perham for the second season in a row and for just the third time in 31 years.
“It was a really good night,” Perham head coach TJ Super said. “The girls came out with great energy, jumped out to a big lead and never looked back. Once it became a double-digit lead, I don’t think it ever got less than 15 or so. Overall, the only area we struggled a bit was with turnovers, but that kept getting better throughout the night.”
Perham dominated the offensive glass. Willow Thiel grabbed 10 offensive rebounds on her way to a 27-point and 14-rebound double-double performance.
Mya Morris was on fire from beyond the arc, hitting 4-of-6 from three-point land. She finished with 14 points and two steals.

Super had some high praises for one of his sparks off the bench.
“Ryleigh Mickelson was a stud off the bench,” he said. “She scored eight points, added seven rebounds, and dialed out seven assists.”
The Jackets shot 8-of-17 (47%) from three. Perham also grabbed 41 rebounds and 12 steals.
