GLYNDON – The Perham girls basketball team had another history-making night on Monday.
Senior Mya Morris broke the school record for 3-pointers made in a single season. She went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc in a 60-36 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.
Morris passed the 80 3-pointer threshold set by Sydney Anderson last season. Anderson beat Katie Johnson’s mark from two seasons ago. Morris’ fourth 3-pointer of the game broke the school record. She’s at 83 on the season.
The Yellowjackets got back in the win column over a Heart O’Lakes Conference and Section 8AA rival. DGF has been a stingy defensive team this season, but Perham was up to the task.
“Since Christmas, DGF hasn’t let anyone score more than 49, and that was us in early January,” Perham head coach TJ Super said. “Their defense has been dialed in, but we came in firing on all cylinders. Mya Morris hit five early threes to give us a lead that we would never give up.”

Willow Thiel led all scorers with 22 points. She also had six boards. Morris finished with 20 points and four steals. Ryleigh Mickelson was beyond impressive defensively. She had seven rebounds and five steals to go along with her two points.
