MINNEAPOLIS – In Perham’s first state tourney appearance since 1991, the girls basketball team fought hard but couldn’t overcome the No. 3 Albany Huskies.
The Yellowjackets lost 51-38. Willow Thiel finished with a game-high 18 points. Mya Morris ended the game with 15 points on 5-of-15 shooting beyond the arc. Thiel and Morris combined for 35 of Perham’s 38 points. Kaia Anderson had three points and Kennedy Pilgrim had two points to round out the Yellowjacket scorers.
Albany’s Alyssa Sand and Kylan Gerads had 14 points each. Tatum Findley finished with 11 points and was the only other Husky to score in double figures. Seven different players scored for Albany.
