MORRIS – The Perham-New York Mills girls swimming and diving team suffered a close loss against Minnewaska-Morris on Thursday at the University of Minnesota-Morris.
The Yellowjackets fell 80-65 despite claiming five first-place finishes.
Lucy Schutlz won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:38.07. Elle McDonald was right behind her in second place (2:39.13). Maggie Vickmark also took home a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:21.15. McDonald took second again in 6:27.63, followed by Lucie Meyer in third (6:33.86).
Taylor Ziemke won the 50-yard freestyle wirth a time of 2:38.07. She also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:19.18.
Brittney Lorentz picked up another win in the diving competition. She paced the pack with a score of 237.10. Avery McAllister was right behind her in second place at 224.85.
