BEMIDJI – Bemidji proved why it has one of the best gymnastics programs in the state on Monday with a 143.325-136.550 win over Perham.
Lauren Berg broke the Lumberjacks’ all-time all-around school record with a 37.05. She tied for first on the vault (9.8), took second on the beam (9.35) and third on the floor (9.35).
Perham’s Avery McAllister also scored a 9.8 on the vault on her way to an all-around total of 36.85. She also took first place on the beam with a 9.55. Brittney Lorentz had the fourth-highest all-around score of 35.22. She scored an 8.25 or higher in all four events, including a 9.1 on her floor routine.
Stephanie Bernstetter scored an 8.25 or higher in three vents on Monday. Natalie Rooney and Gracie Morris also scored in three events, with Aryanna Myers and Cailyn Greisen out of the lineup.
Perham is back in action on Thursday in Little Falls before the Section 8A meet takes place in Detroit Lakes on Feb. 12.
