OMAHA – The Perham Buzz started its three-game Nebraska road trip with a win.
Perham beat Northeast Taylor 10-3 behind a six-run seventh inning.
Leading 4-2, Chas Melvin ripped a triple to score Austin Aanenson after Jacob McAllister scored on an error. Andrew Smith brought home another run on an RBI single to make it 7-2.
Evan Kovash made it a six-run game with an RBI single before Blaiz Schmidt walked with the bases loaded. Gambel Bye brought home another run on a sacrifice fly to make it 10-2.
Northeast Taylor got a run on a sacrifice fly before Cullen Poole got a ground ball double play to end the game.

Perham scored two runs in the first and fifth innings. Ben Shumansky brought home a run on a fielder’s choice. He scored on a double steal to double the lead.
After Northeast Taylor got a run in the fourth, Aaneson got it back in the top of the fifth with an RBI single. Logan Pulju also singled in a run with two outs.
Evan Kovash threw six innings on the mound. He allowed two earned runs on four hits with three walks. He also struck out four batters.
The Buzz opened the season with a pair of mercy-rule wins over Fergus Falls. The Perham Legion baseball team is 3-0 to start its summer season.
