PERHAM – The Perham wrestling team lost a hard-fought battle of the bees on Friday night at The Hive.
Frazee nipped the Yellowjackets 35-30 in a battle of the top two heart O’’Lakes Conference teams.
Cash Osterman (106) and Liam Hamm (113) got the Hornets started with wins before Perham’s Isaac Adams (120) pinned Blake Sonnenberg in 5:53. Tiegan Detloff made it 10-8 with an 8-3 decision win over Brady Borah at 126 pounds.
Cade Nagel (132) pinned Nick Peters before Bailey Peichel (138) beat Chandler Mickelson by decision, putting Frazee ahead 18-8.
Carson Byer (145) got two points back with an 8-6 decision win over Josh Mellema at 145 pounds. However, Tyler Moe (152), Jake Nagel (160) and Preston Mayfield (170) put the match out of reach.
Perham’s Braylon Rach beat Max Rue by technical fall (24-9) at 182 pounds before Hudson Hackel (195) picked up a major decision win over Daniel Graham. Rorey Lindquist (220) and Jaxson Vetch (285) won the final two matches of the night for the Yellowjackets.
