Wrestling: Perham wrestling team holds end-of-season banquet

Perham wrestling families and coaches gathered one last time to write the final chapter of the season, handing out a multitude of team awards.

PERHAM – The Perham wrestling team celebrated the end of the 2022-23 season with its annual banquet where the team awarded the wrestlers with various team awards.

The Yellowjackets ended the season with a dual meet record of 14-13. Chandler Mickelson, Rory Lindquist, Braylon Rach, Hudson Hackel and Isaac Adams were the five Perham wrestlers to qualify for a trip to the 2023 Class AA State Tournament in St. Paul.

The Perham wrestling team award winners are as followed:

  • Most Improved Wrestlers: Rory Lindquist
  • Best Teammate: Jaxon Vetsch
  • Hardest Worker: Carson Byer
  • Most Valuable Wrestler: Braylon Rach
  • Rookie of the Year: Isaac Adams

Along with the varsity awards, the junior varsity handed out their team awards. Brody Wacker was named the Most Valuable Wrestler. Carson Zeise was named the Hardest Worker and Michah Balderson was named the team’s Most Improved Wrestler.
