The Yellowjacket football team had a long bus ride back from Thief River Falls after a 29-13 defeat at the hands of the Prowlers.
A defensive battle for nearly two quarters was ended with a Jerry Guerrero 36-yard field goal giving the Prowlers an early 3-0 lead with two minutes remaining in the first half.
"Defensively, we continued to play well, stopping Thief River Falls from scoring several times. Offensively, our biggest challenge has been putting the ball in the end zone," said Head Coach Mike Jordahl.
Perham would answer with a quick strike looking to take a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
Jordan Hein hit Andrew Waldon from 59 yards out for six capping a three-play drive of 70 yards with 1:21 remaining on the first half clock.

With time waning, from the Prowler 22-yard-line, CJ Jackson would rush for 12 yards and follow it up with a 66-yard scamper with 47 second remaining to give Thief River Falls a 10-7 lead at half.
In the second half, the Prowlers put up 19 unanswered points, all on the ground, before Hein would hit Eric Brauch for Perham's only other score with three minutes to go in the game from 20 yards out.
"We're moving the ball and have some exceptional athletes, so we're close to getting over the hump. It'll be exciting when Roseau comes to town on Friday to see what we can do as our young quarterback continues to show his athleticism and gains more reps."
