The Silver Pirates are second place in the Northwest League while the Carlos Whitecaps are in a battle for third.

The Silver lads will take an 11-3 record into the Carlos game after defeating Urbank 11-7 last Thursday.

Offense was the name of the game for Perham, as they scored three in the first, four in the second and two in the third to put the game away early.

Jason McClellan had two hits, scored three runs, an RBI and two walks.

Ron Litzau had two doubles, scored three runs, an RBI and a walk- Jim Nelson had two hits, scored two runs, had two RBI. Gary Lackey had two hits, two RBI and a walk. Gary Grewe had three hits and two RBI, while Jim Belfiori and Brad Kempe each had a hit and scored a run.

There were no Web Gems to speak of but solid play other than by this writer - I'll leave it there.

Player Of the Game: We'll give it to Gary Lackey as he picked up his sixth win of the season against one loss. Lackey had 10 strikeouts while walking three and giving up four hits.

He did a nice job of playing his position backing up home plate and nailing a runner at third base to kill a rally. Lackey also helped out his cause with two hits and two RBI.

The final regular game of the season will be this Friday evening as the Silver Pirates host Carlos in their first ever "Fan Appreciation Night" - come on out and enjoy some good baseball and show your support to send the Pirates off to the State Tournament.
