After a stellar week of hitting, a New York Mills softball alum is honored with the "Player of the Week" award.
The Wadena Legion softball team became the first to punch their ticket to the Minnesota American Legion state softball tournament. Despite an 0-3 weekend, the Wadena girls are proud to be part of a historic season for girls sports in Minnesota.
Teams from Parkers Prairie and Howard Lake played the first-ever softball game under the American Legion umbrella in Minnesota on May 30, 2022. Minnesota becomes the sixth state in the country to have a softball league sanctioned by the American Legion. It's the start of a new opportunity that many players and coaches have wanted for a long time.

On a day where the Detroit Lakes and Perham softball teams each had highs and lows, both got their first wins of the season and some confidence going forward.
After a crushing 8-7 walk-off loss to Thief River Falls in the Section 8-2A tournament, the Perham softball team is reloaded to compete for conference and section gold.
“We fight about vaccinations. We fight about masks. This is about softballs,” Mark Raymond's father said.
