The Perham boys and girls track teams are gearing up for a competitive track and field season in a new-look Section 6A field.
The Perham boys track and field team notched a top-three finish at the HOL indoor meet in Moorhead on Tuesday behind Levi Richter's record-setting pole vault.
The Perham girls track and field team beat out other Heart O'Lakes Conference foes on Tuesday in the season-opening meet.
Levi Richter put pen to paper to ink his commitment to the North Dakota State University track and field team. He's part of the latest group of Perham athletes to carry on a rich athletic pool that competes beyond the high school level.

Perham High School graduate and successful athlete Abigail Anderson of Minneapolis, the sister of late track star and Olympic hopeful Gabriele Grunewald, died on the evening of Saturday, Aug. 14 near the University of Minnesota’s soccer stadium, Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium, when she was struck by a vehicle. She was just 29.
The 14-year-old girl traveled to Texas for national track meet, placing eighth.
Former North Dakota State runner Maddie Van Beek, from Perham has been named head cross country coach for the Concordia Cobbers.
