Walks hurt Yellowjackets in loss to Spuds

Perham pitchers combine for 13 walks in 13-3 defeat


Perham pitchers had a tough time finding the strike zone in the team's 13-3 loss to Moorhead Tuesday, April 27, in Moorhead.

Yellowjackets Gage Germolus and Austin Aanenson gave up 13 walks to the Spuds. Germolus, who was the losing pitcher in the game, walked five batters, gave up two hits, and had seven earned runs. Aanenson gave up two hits, three earned runs, and walked eight batters.

While Germolus may have struggled with his pitching, he did go 2-2 at the plate and had two RBI for the Yellowjackets. Chas Melvin went 1-3 in the game and had the team's other RBI.

The Yellowjackets are 2-1 for the season. They travel to Hawley on Thursday, April 29, for a doubleheader that starts at 4 p.m.
