PARK RAPIDS -- A match-opening forfeit at 106 gave Park Rapids its only lead before the New York Mills Eagles tallied 54 points in a blowout wrestling victory over the Panthers 54-15 Tuesday evening.
Jeremiah Harper (113), Kacee Skoog (152) Cole Grabow (195) and Max Carlson (285) all recorded pins for New York Mills.
Shane Novak suffered another forfeit in an early season where matches have been tough to come by for the defending state champ.
Austin Haman defeated Nolan Booge 6-4 at 126; Tyler Ehnert won by tech fall 18-3 over Logan Johnson at 132. Tyler Patron won by the same score over Trai Schmidt at 220 pounds.
While only scoring 15 points, Park Rapids gave up 18 points, alone, in three forfeits at 120, 160, and 170.
