Perham defeated Breckenridge, 3-0, by scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-23 in the opening round of Section 8AA volleyball play.
Perham dominated the first two sets before sneaking by in set three, perhaps, with their eyes on a rematch with undefeated Wadena-Deer Creek tonight, Friday, October 29.
"Breckenridge had a good game plan defensively, we were just able to make adjustments to counter and were successful as a result," Head Coach Dan Christenson said.
Katrina Moenkedick led the Jackets with 14 kills, while Kaylan Huber defended the back with 27 digs.
"Kaylan was automatic from the back row - everything starts with a pass, and she started many transitions tonight. 27 of 29 on digs, and almost perfect serve receive - makes it much easier to run an offense."

Perham had to come from behind in set three. Katie Herrmann came off the bench to lead the Yellowjackets from behind with her serving. Down 17-14, Herrmann served seven straight points to make the score 21-17. The Jackets never looked back.
Perham will now travel to the Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School to play in the 8AA south subsection semi-finals tonight (Friday, Oct. 29) at 7 p.m. The winner will play for the subsection title next Thursday night, Nov. 4, at a neutral site to be determined.
