The Perham girls basketball team seemed to be in a good position after its first half against Crookston Thursday, Feb. 25, going into the break with a 23-14 lead. Crookston made some adjustments during the break and came out in the second half with a powerhouse offense that ultimately defeated the Yellowjackets 60-43.
Emma Borowitz led Crookston offensively, scoring 23 total points (18 in the second half). The Pirates also sunk seven 3-pointers (five in the second half) and went 15-18 in free throws in the game.
For the Yellowjackets, Sydney Anderson and Willow Thiel each had 11 points.
The Yellowjackets are 8-5. They travel to Pequot Lakes Tuesday, March 2, for a 7:30 p.m. start.
