The Perham Yellowjacket girls tennis team is used to the road. The Yellowjackets traveled again on Sept. 6 when they squared off with section rival Parkers Prairie. The Yellowjackets swept the singles portion and earned a doubles win, picking up the 5-2 victory over Parkers Prairie.

"Overall, I thought we had a lot of competitive matches on the day," Perham head coach Jameson Miller said. "Parkers Prairie is a very solid team that has a lot of good wins on the year. It was a very good team win for us against a team in our section."

The Yellowjackets have held three home dual meets in their nine events, with those three occurring on the same day.

The Yellowjackets continue their extended road trip with a dual meet on Sept. 8 at Crosby-Ironton, before traveling to Brainerd for the annual Moose Invite on Sept. 10. The Yellowjackets finally come home for a dual meet with Park Rapids on Sept. 13.

Senior Josie Beachy cruised in straight sets at No. 1 singles. She wasted little time in her victory over Parkers Prairie's Kathryn Burquest. Beachy won the first 6-1 and followed it up with a 6-0 win in set two.
