Yellowjackets extend streak with home win

The Perham Yellowjackets cruised to a 64-24 victory over the Park Rapids Panthers on Jan. 9 at the Prairie Wind Middle School gymnasium in non-conference boys basketball.

Carter Cresap and Josh Jeziorski paced the Yellowjackets with 12 points each, while Jenson Beachy added 11 points.

The Yellowjackets were 24 of 44 from the field and were 10 of 23 from the 3-point line in the victory. Along with the strong offensive night, it was the defense that held the Panthers to 9 of 43 shooting from the field.

Jeziorski hauled in 10 rebounds to go along with his 12 points for the double-double. He helped the Yellowjackets maintain a 31-21 edge on the boards.

Jason Haas finished with nine points, while Jake Reish added eight and Tristin Persons finished with seven to record all the points for Park Rapids Area.

The Yellowjackets move to 12-0 on the season with the victory. They return to the floor against Detroit Lakes, closing out a three-game homestand on Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m.
