Yellowjackets finish third at Mid-State Conference Championships

The Perham/New York Mills boys swimming team closed out the regular season at the Mid-State Conference Championships on Feb. 8 in Park Rapids.

The Yellowjackets finished third with 336 points. Park Rapids Area was second with 368 points and Detroit Lakes captured the team title with 400 points.

The 200 medley relay team of Blake Swenson, Luke Becker, Kyle Swanson and Daniel Kingsley finished third at 2:05.09.

Max George collected a second place finish in the 200 freestyle at 2:18.84, while Swenson was fourth in the 200 individual medley at 2:43.80.

Kingsley followed with a second place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.02, while Swanson was second in the 100 butterfly at 1:07.34.

Bjorn Anderson finished fifth overall in the 100 freestyle with a finishing time of 1:07.14. George earned another second place finish in the 500 freestyle. He closed out with a time of 6:11.30.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Swanson, Becker, George and Kingsley came in with a time of 1:45.82 for third place.

Swenson followed with a fourth place finish in the 100 backstroke. He finished with a time of 1:09.63.

Becker was fourth in the 100 breaststroke when he touched in with a time of 1:22.50. The event closed with a second place finish from Swanson, Swenson, George and Kingsley in the 400 freestyle relay.
