The Perham tennis team beat Moorhead 5-2 in the last regular season match of the season Thursday, May 20, in Perham.
All four singles players - Josh Peterson, Michael Schwantz, Jack Birkeland, and Soren Anderson - won their matches, and the 3rd doubles team of Jack Fudge and Neil Sautter came away with a win as well.
Section play begins Monday, May 24, in East Grand Forks, and according to head coach Lori Peterson, the players are playing with confidence and coming into form.
"With our sections on Monday, it's great to see them playing so well leading up to that tournament," Peterson said. "Doubles all had some good battles and it was fun to see our players going for winners rather than playing tentatively."
One of the challenges this season has been to figure out the best pairings for doubles play. With no season or coach last year, the team lacked some depth this season. Peterson, however, is pleased with how the team has come together as the season progressed.

"Our team really supports each other and it's been such a pleasure to watch them come together to cheer on their teammates that are still on the court," she said.
Section tournament play starts Monday, May 24, in East Grand Forks.
