Melrose took home first at the annual Perham Jacket Classic Speech meet held on Saturday, March 18, at Perham High School.
The Full Metal Jackets finished in third place alongside their alliance at their recent competition in Duluth.
Students Quincy Anderson, Jaxon Bain and Isaac Paurus walked away from the Minnesota Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference as state champions.
Sadie Shippee, a Perham High School senior, drew a colorful turtle with different west-central Minnesota motifs represented on its shell. Her art will be displayed in the state Senate building.
