Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at Highway 59 and South Melissa Drive in Detroit Lakes on Dec. 10.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Toyota Tundra driven by Frederick Sanchez, 45, of Erhard was southbound on Highway 59 when a Chevrolet Uplander minivan, eastbound on South Melissa Drive, crossed Highway 59 and the two vehicles collided. The Toyota struck the minivan and spun out in the lane, and the minivan went into a ditch. The driver of the minivan fled the scene and has not yet been identified.
Sanchez and his passenger, Julie Hoff, 54, of Underwood were injured and transported by ambulance to Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes. The crash remains under investigation.
