Phase 2 of the city's multi-phased deconstruction of the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center appears to be moving forward, as city leaders revealed Wednesday morning that Minnesota's State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and the National Parks Service have determined the work will not interfere with the building's historic status.
Following a one-hour closed meeting of the Fergus Falls City Council, city leaders have finally pulled the wraps off of a development plan for a portion of the Kirkbride property which has fueled local rumor and speculation over the last month. Between sessions, a considerable crowd of community members waited eagerly in the lobby of City Hall for the council chambers to reopen and the details to emerge.
Recently, concerns have been raised regarding the Otter Tail County In-Custody List website. The page is used by the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office to inform the public of individuals who have been detained by law enforcement, but there are some who feel constitutional rights are being violated.
