A logo at center court is at the center of a feud between UND donor Kris Engelstad McGarry and UND President Mark Kennedy. In the months leading up to McGarry telling the Herald editorial board about the fractured relationship with Kennedy, the two parties disagreed over a floor marking at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center, according to emails obtained by the Herald through an open records request.
East Grand Forks Senior High’s first offensive drive featured Maguire Stanislawski’s 51-yard touchdown run to give the Green Wave the early lead. The Green Wave’s running game, however, peaked early. Perham answered with the next 32 points to cruise to a 45-12 win on Friday night at Senior High Field.
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. – The East Grand Forks football program is in search of a new head coach. Scott Oliver, who completed his fourth season with the Green Wave last fall, said he has resigned as football coach. Oliver will continue to teach at East Grand Forks and will remain an assistant coach with the Wave boys hockey program. Oliver will also continue to work with the Upper Midwest Elite Hockey League in the fall. “Basically, the last four years I’ve had Green Wave football Monday morning through Saturday morning and elite league Saturday through Sunday night,” Oliver said.
ST. PAUL — The Green Wave are the Title Wave for the first time in program history. East Grand Forks Senior High won its first state boys hockey championship as seven different skaters scored — highlighted by a five-goal second period — to beat Hermantown 7-3 on Saturday in the title game of the Minnesota state Class A tournament at Xcel Energy Center.
